The `scroll()` function, when used with `animation-timeline`, creates a timeline that represents the scroll progress of its associated scroll container. By default, it applies to the nearest scrollable ancestor or the document root if none is specified. For a page-wide reading progress bar, `animation-timeline: scroll(root)` is perfect.
